Place in Memory Series
2002
The Place in Memory Series examines how memories are interwoven with a location. Even ordinary places can stand out in our recollection of different visits and events that may have taken place there. The photographs describe dramatic moments, hinting at larger stories left untold. They appear as memories of our memories. A memory of a person is being recalled by the memory of the location. For example, the semi-translucent woman barely can glance the fading image of herself at a previous visit to the location. All of the "memories" in the images are fictional and the locations bear no actual personal meaning.
