Flower Series

2004

The Flower Series takes an inquisitive look at the symbolism associated with flowers in the existentialist cycle of life and death. A great variety of feelings can be connected with flowers. Fresh flower blossoms evoke a different response from dying blooms. For example, a wedding bouquet is very different from a funeral flower arrangement. Spring blossoms may evoke ideas of beauty and youth. Discolored fall leaves, while beautiful in their own way, are reminiscent of aging and the loss of beauty.
